Estoril Praia finished the I Liga without the blame of who failed in what was due in the last round. It was a game globally well played in Estoril, but the other half of the miracle did not come from Alvalade. The 'encarnada' team finished the championship in third place and is Sporting who will go to the Champions League in 2026/27. Estoril Praia appeared in this game with a very variable tactical system, with a 5x4x1 defense low and a 4x4x2 losange defense high and offensive. The idea had some virtues, but it seemed to have some discomfort in Estoril. Xeka, the Estoril midfielder, ended up being in the spotlight, having direct participation in the three goals of Benfica. At 7', Ríos created a trap for the lateral Ricard Sánchez, who committed to the interior zone and left more space for Schjelderup. At 15', Schjelderup won a corner in another individual play and there was a cross from Prestianni, a deflection from Tomás Araújo to the first post and Bah to finish the second. Two minutes later, a high recovery of Ríos pushed Benfica to the attack and, after a failed pass by Xeka, there was an involvement of Bah, Prestianni and Rafa – finished the Portuguese left-footed. Three goals, three errors of Xeka – two positional, one technical. Offensively, there was very little Estoril and the most prominent play until then was at 3', with Ricard rising to interior zones and creating problems for Dahl – who did not know if he would control the lateral or the winger. There was a cross from Ricard and a header from Gonçalo – poorly followed by Prestianni.
