Carlitos, former Estoril Praia player, praises Marco Silva as the best coach of his career. The Portuguese coach will train Benfica. "I think Benfica made a great signing and it was a huge pride for me to see Benfica sign Marco Silva", confesses the former player. Despite describing the coach as someone more reserved in everyday life, Carlitos highlights the enormous human capacity that characterizes him. "He's a reserved person, but when he's with friends and players, he opens up more", he explains. And adds: "He can pull the players to his side. It's not surprising that I say he was the best that passed through my career, for the person he is, in training and games". The move to the Luz of the former Fulham coach is seen by the former Estoril player as the culmination of a successful career path. "Since I left Estoril... I think Marco Silva wanted to train a big team", reveals Carlitos. "Training Benfica is the pinnacle of any Portuguese coach's career and I don't think it's a step back because Benfica is a big team and for a Portuguese it's even bigger", he says confidently. Carlitos has dual Portuguese and Cape Verdean nationality, so after qualifying for the first World Cup in the history of that African country, the former footballer admits that he feels proud to see the Cape Verdean team's performance improve. "It's a pride to have Cape Verde in the World Cup for the first time, Cape Verde has evolved a lot", he praises while recalling his playing days. "When I played, they always called me, but they didn't have the conditions they have today. I'm very proud of Cape Verde for achieving greatness by being in the World Cup", he says with joy.
